Ellis Rubin- Jeff and Kathy Willets

[edit] Jeff and Kathy Willets
His most infamous case was his defense of Jeff and Kathy Willets in 1991. The Willets were accused of operating a sex business out of their home. Rubin argued in their defense that Kathy Willets was driven to prostitution by nymphomania brought on by side-effects of the antidepressant, Prozac, forcing her to need sex with as many as eight men daily. Her husband, a deputy sheriff, was impotent and videotaped his wife’s sex acts as a form of therapy. Despite this original defense, both were convicted.[3]

Ellis Rubin Ronny Zamora

[edit] Ronny Zamora
When Rubin defended 15-year-old Ronny Zamora in 1977, for the murder of his 83-year-old neighbor in her Miami Beach home in a robbery, the trial was one of the first ever nationally televised. Zamora’s defense was that he was intoxicated by violence on television. The defense became known as the “TV Intoxication” defense; Zamora claimed he could not tell the difference between fantasy and reality because of his obsession with Kojak and other violent shows since the age of five.[8][9]
Rubin tried unsuccessfully to provide evidence of the damaging effect of TV on young minds by issuing subpoenas to the TV star of Kojak, Telly Savalas, and to nationally known experts on the relationship between violence and TV. When Zamora was convicted and sentenced to life, he unsuccessfully appealed his sentence, blaming Rubin for the TV intoxication defense which he claimed made a joke of his trial. The federal appeals court ruled that evidence against Zamora was overwhelming and that Rubin had made the best of a weak case; the defense had in fact helped Zamora by focusing attention on Zamora’s deprived background.[2]
Zamora was released from prison in 2004 after having served 27 years in prison.[9]

Ellis Rubin Gay rights

[edit] Gay rights
Rubin, who supported Anita Bryant‘s anti-gay crusade in the 1970s, later became a strong advocate for gay rights. He filed a lawsuit in Federal court under the Defense of Marriage Act to attain recognition of a lesbian couple’s Canadian marriage.[20] By 2004, Rubin had filed six same-sex-couple lawsuits, four in Florida state courts, and two challenging federal same-sex marriage laws. Since Florida is one of the least tolerant states toward same-sex marriages, Rubin has been criticized by activists for his aggressive, “scorched-earth” tactics by frustrated gay rights advocates.[21]

[edit] Early life
Olson was born Barbara Kay Bracher in Houston, Texas. (Her older sister, Toni Bracher-Lawrence, has been a member of the Houston City Council since 2004.) She graduated from Waltrip High School[1] and earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston.
Olson became a professional dancer, performing with the San Francisco Ballet and the Harkness Ballet in New York City. She switched careers and went to Hollywood to work as an assistant producer for television and movies.
[edit] Career
As a newcomer, she achieved a surprising measure of success, working for HBO and Stacey Keach Productions. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from Yeshiva University‘s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. In the early 1990s, she worked as an associate at the Washington, D.C.-based law firm of Wilmer Cutler & Pickering where she did civil litigation for several years before becoming an assistant U.S. attorney. In 1994, she left to work for the United States House of Representatives, becoming chief investigative counsel for the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee. In that position, she led the Travelgate and Filegate investigations into the Clinton administration. She co-founded the Independent Women’s Forum with Rosalie Silberman.[2] She was later a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of the Birmingham, Alabama
law firm
Balch & Bingham.
Her support of Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas led to the formation of the Independent Women’s Forum, which had its origins in 1991-92, when Mrs. Olson and friend “Ricky” Rosalie Gaull Silberman started an informal network of women who supported the Thomas nomination despite allegations of sexual harassment by Anita Hill, a former colleague at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Mrs. Olson also had worked with Thomas at the commission and was a close friend. During his contentious confirmation, she spoke out on his behalf and helped edit “The Real Anita Hill,” a book by David Brock that savaged Hill and portrayed her charges as a political dirty trick. The idea for the Independent Women’s Forum was to create a high profile group of women who advocated economic liberty, personal responsibility, and political freedom.
She married Theodore Olson in 1996. He went on to successfully represent presidential candidate George W. Bush in the Supreme Court case of Bush v. Gore, which effectively determined the final result of the contested 2000 Presidential election. He subsequently served as U.S. Solicitor General in the Bush administration.
She was a frequent critic of the Bill Clinton administration and wrote a book about then First Lady
Hillary Clinton, Hell to Pay: The Unfolding Story of Hillary Rodham Clinton (1999). Olson was working on her second book, The Final Days: The Last, Desperate Abuses of Power by the Clinton White House (published October 2001) at the time of her death. She was a resident of Great Falls, Virginia.
[edit] Death
Olson was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 77 on her way to a taping of Politically Incorrect in Los Angeles, when it was flown into the Pentagon in the September 11, 2001 attacks. Politically Incorrect host Bill Maher left a panel seat vacant for a week following her death. During the duration of the flight, she called husband Theodore Olson who informed her of the crashes in New York.
[edit] Memorial lectures
The Federalist Society has established the Barbara K. Olson Memorial Lectures, “an annual lecture on limited government and the spirit of freedom”,[3] held every November. The first lecture was a eulogy for her by her husband.[4] Subsequent speakers have included Supreme Court Associate Justice
Antonin Scalia, Vice President
Dick Cheney,[5] and Chief Justice John G. Roberts.

Perpetrator(s) Ramzi Yousef and co-conspirators

The 1993 World Trade Center bombing occurred on February 26, 1993, when a car bomb was detonated below the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. The 1,500 lb (680 kg) urea nitrate–hydrogen gas enhanced device[1] was intended to knock the North Tower (Tower One) into the South Tower (Tower Two), bringing both towers down and killing thousands of people.[2][3] It failed to do so, but did kill six people and injured 1,042.
The attack was planned by a group of conspirators including Ramzi Yousef, Mahmud Abouhalima, Mohammad Salameh, Nidal Ayyad, Abdul Rahman Yasin and Ahmad Ajaj. They received financing from Khaled Shaikh Mohammed, Yousef’s uncle. In March 1994, four men were convicted of carrying out the bombing: Abouhalima, Ajaj, Ayyad and Salameh. The charges included conspiracy, explosive destruction of property and interstate transportation of explosives. In November 1997, two more were convicted: Yousef, the mastermind behind the bombings, and Eyad Ismoil, who drove the truck carrying the bomb.

[edit] Planning and organization
Ramzi Yousef, who was born as Abdul Basit Mahmoud Abdul Karim in Kuwait, spent time at Al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan,[4] before beginning in 1991 to plan a bombing attack within the United States. Yousef’s uncle Khalid Shaikh Mohammed Ali Fadden, who later was considered the principal architect of the September 11 attacks, gave him advice and tips over the phone, and funded him with a US$660 wire transfer.[5]
Yousef arrived in the United States on September 1, 1992, traveling with Ahmed Ajaj from Pakistan, though both sat apart on the flight and acted as though they were traveling separately. Ajaj tried to enter with a Swedish passport, though it had been altered and thus raised suspicions among INS officials at John F. Kennedy International Airport. When officials put Ajaj through secondary inspection, they discovered bomb making instructions and other materials in his luggage, and arrested him. The name Abu Barra, an alias of Mohammed Jamal Khalifa, appeared in the manuals. Yousef tried to enter with a false Iraqi passport, claiming political asylum. Yousef was allowed into the United States, and was given a hearing date.[6]
Yousef set up residence on Nicole Pickett Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey, traveled around New York and New Jersey and called Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, a controversial blind Muslim cleric, via cell phone. After being introduced to his co-conspirators by Abdel Rahman at the latter’s Al-Farooq Mosque in Brooklyn, Yousef began assembling the 1,500 lb urea nitrate–hydrogen gas enhanced device for delivery to the WTC. He ordered chemicals from his hospital room when injured in a car crash – one of three accidents caused by Salameh in late 1992 and early in 1993.
El Sayyid Nosair, one of the blind sheik’s men, was arrested in 1991 for the murder of Rabbi
Meir Kahane. According to prosecutors, “the Red” Mahmud Abouhalima, also convicted in the bombing, told Wadih el Hage to buy the .38 caliber revolver used by Nosair in the Kahane shooting. In the initial court case in NYS Criminal Court Nosair was acquitted of murder but convicted of gun charges. (In a related and followup case in Federal Court, he was convicted). Dozens of Arabic bomb-making manuals and documents related to terrorist plots were found in Nosair’s New Jersey apartment, with manuals from Army Special Warfare Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, secret memos linked to Joint Chiefs of Staff, and 1,440 rounds of ammunition. (Lance 2004 26 )
[edit] Yousef’s view of the attack
According to the journalist , Yousef mailed letters to various New York newspapers just before the attack, in which he claimed he belonged to ‘Liberation Army, Fifth Battalion’.[7] These letters made three demands: an end to all US aid to Israel, an end to US diplomatic relations with Israel, and a demand for a pledge by the United States to end interference “with any of the Middle East countries’ interior affairs.” He stated that the attack on the World Trade Center would be merely the first of such attacks if his demands were not met. In his letters Yousef admitted that the World Trade Center bombing was an act of terrorism, but that this was justified because “the terrorism that Israel practices (which America supports) must be faced with a similar one.”
[edit] The attack

Ramzi Yousef and a Jordanian friend, Eyad Ismoil, drove a yellow Ryder van into Lower Manhattan, and pulled into the public parking garage beneath the World Trade Center around noon. Yousef ignited the 20-foot fuse, and fled. Twelve minutes later, at 12:17:37 pm, the bomb exploded in the underground garage, generating an estimated pressure of 150,000 psi.[8] The bomb opened a 30-m (98 ft) wide hole through four sublevels of concrete. The detonation velocity of this bomb was about 15,000 ft/s (4.5 km/s).
The bomb instantly cut off the center’s main electrical power line, knocking out the emergency lighting system. The bomb caused smoke to rise up to the 93rd floor of both towers, including through the stairwells which were not pressurized.[9] With thick smoke filling the stairwells, evacuation was difficult for building occupants and led to many smoke inhalation injuries. Hundreds were trapped in elevators in the towers when the power was cut, including a group of 17 kindergartners, on their way down from the South Tower observation deck, who were trapped between the 35th and 36th floors for five hours.[10][11]
Also as a result of the loss of electricity most of New York City’s radio and television stations lost their over-the-air broadcast signal for almost a week, with television stations only being able to broadcast via cable and satellite via a microwave hookup between the stations and three of the New York area’s largest cable companies, Cablevision, Comcast, and Time Warner Cable. Telephone service for much of Lower Manhattan was also disrupted.
Altogether, six people were killed and 1,042 others were injured, most during the evacuation that followed the blast.[12] The towers did not collapse, according to Yousef’s plan, but the explosion did damage the garage badly. Nevertheless, had the van been parked closer to the WTC’s poured concrete foundations, Yousef’s plan might have succeeded.[13] Yousef escaped to Pakistan several hours later after the bombing.
Yousef had left Jersey City much earlier in the morning, thus questions linger as to why he waited to noon to attack when the parking area was much less crowded. Conspirator Mahmud Abouhalima later stated that the original plan was to attack the United Nations headquarters earlier in the morning. Author Simon Reeve theorized that something went wrong, such as Yousef encountering too much security, and the target was changed to be the World Trade Center.[12]
[edit] Bomb characteristics
Yousef was assisted by Iraqi bomb maker Abdul Rahman Yasin, who helped assemble the complex 1310 lb (600 kg) bomb, which was made of a urea nitrate main charge with aluminum, magnesium and ferric oxide particles surrounding the explosive. The charge used nitroglycerine, ammonium nitrate dynamite, smokeless powder and fuse as booster explosives.[14] Three tanks of bottled hydrogen were also placed in a circular configuration around the main charge, to enhance the fireball and afterburn of the solid metal particles.[15] The use of compressed gas cylinders in this type of attack closely resembles the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing 10 years earlier. Both of these attacks used compressed gas cylinders to create fuel-air and thermobaric bombs[16] that release more energy than conventional high explosives. According to testimony in the bomb trial, only once before the 1993 attack had the FBI recorded a bomb that used urea nitrate.[17][18]
The Ryder van used in the bombing had 295 ft3 (8.3 m3) of space, which would hold up to a ton (907 kg) of explosives. However, the van was not filled to capacity. Yousef used four 20 ft (6 m) long fuses, all covered in surgical tubing. Yasin calculated that the fuse would trigger the bomb in twelve minutes after he had used a cigarette lighter to light the fuse.
Yousef wanted the smoke to remain in the tower, therefore catching the public eye by smothering people inside, killing them slowly. He anticipated Tower One collapsing onto Tower Two after the blast.
There remains a popular belief that there was cyanide in the bomb, which is reinforced by Judge Duffy’s statement at sentencing, “[y]ou had sodium cyanide around, and I’m sure it was in the bomb.” However, the bomb’s true composition was not able to be ascertained from the crime scene and Robert Blitzer, a senior FBI official who worked on the case, stated that there was “no forensic evidence indicating the presence of sodium cyanide at the bomb site.” Furthermore, Yousef is said only to have considered adding cyanide to the bomb, and to have regretted not doing so in Peter Lance‘s book 1000 Years For Revenge.
[edit] Investigation
Though the cause of the blast was not immediately known, with some suspecting a transformer explosion, agents and bomb technicians from the ATF, FBI, and the NYPD quickly responded to the scene. The magnitude of the explosion was far beyond that of a transformer explosion.
In the days after the bombing, investigators surveyed the damage and looked for clues. While combing through the rubble in the underground parking area, a bomb technician located some internal component fragments from the vehicle that delivered the bomb. A vehicle identification number (VIN), found on a piece from an axle, gave investigators crucial information that led them to a Ryder truck rental outlet in Jersey City. Investigators determined that the vehicle had been rented by Mohammad Salameh, one of Yousef’s co-conspirators.[19] Salameh had reported the van stolen, and when he returned on March 4, 1993, to get his deposit back, authorities arrested him.[20]
Salameh’s arrest led police to the apartment of Abdul Rahman Yasin in Jersey City, New Jersey, which Yasin was sharing with his mother, in the same building as Ramzi Yousef’s apartment. Yasin was taken to FBI headquarters in Newark, New Jersey, and was then released. The next day, he flew back to Iraq, via Amman, Jordan. Yasin was later indicted for the attack, and in 2001 he was placed on the initial list of the FBI Most Wanted Terrorists, on which he remains today. He disappeared before the U.S. coalition invasion, Operation Iraqi Freedom, in 2003. In March 1994, Salameh, Nidal Ayyad, Mahmud Abouhalima and Ahmad Ajaj were each convicted in the World Trade Center bombing. In May 1994, they were sentenced to life imprisonment.
The capture of Salameh and Yasin led authorities to Ramzi Yousef‘s apartment, where they found bomb-making materials and a business card from Mohammed Jamal Khalifa. Khalifa was arrested on December 14, 1994, and was deported to Jordan by the INS on May 5, 1995. He was acquitted by a Jordanian court and lived as a free man in Saudi Arabia until his death in 2007.
[edit] Aftermath
[edit] Memorial

Deaths in the 1993 bombing[21]
1. Monica Smith, age 35, a secretary, who was seven-months pregnant, was in her office checking time-sheets in the B-2 level.
2. Robert (Bob) Kirkpatrick, age 61, a locksmith, was eating lunch in a room next to Smith’s office.
3. Bill Macko, age 47, maintenance worker, was also eating lunch.
4. Stephen Knapp, age 48, maintenance supervisor, was eating lunch with Macko and Kirkpatrick.
5. John DiGiovanni, age 45, a dental products salesperson, was parking in the underground garage.
6. Wilfredo Mercado, age 37, a receiving agent for Windows on the World restaurant, was checking in deliveries.

A granite memorial fountain honoring the six victims of the bombing was designed by Elyn Zimmerman and dedicated in 1995 on Austin J. Tobin Plaza, directly above the site of the explosion. It contained the names of the six people who perished in the attack as well as an inscription that read:
“On February 26, 1993, a bomb set by terrorists exploded below this site. This horrible act of violence killed innocent people, injured thousands, and made victims of us all.”
The fountain was destroyed with the rest of the World Trade Center during the September 11 attacks. A recovered fragment from the 1993 bombing memorial with the text “John D”, from bombing victim John DiGiovanni, is being used as the centerpiece of a new memorial honoring the victims of both the 1993 and 2001 attacks.[22]
[edit] FBI involvement
In the course of the trial it was revealed that the FBI had an informant, a former Egyptian army officer named Emad Salem. Salem claims to have informed the FBI of the plot to bomb the towers as early as February 6, 1992. Salem’s role as informant allowed the FBI to quickly pinpoint the conspirators out of hundreds of possible suspects.
Salem, initially believing that this was to be a sting operation, claimed that the FBI’s original plan was for Salem to supply the conspirators with a harmless powder instead of actual explosive to build their bomb, but that the FBI chose to use him for other purposes instead. He secretly recorded hundreds of hours of telephone conversations with his FBI handlers.[23]
[edit] Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) involvement
Although the FBI received the credit, Diplomatic Security Service special agents actually found and arrested Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, the architect of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Special Agents Bill Miller and Jeff Riner were given a tip by an associate of Ramzi Yousef about his location. In coordination with the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), DSS and ISI arrested Yousef.[24] Security ranged for the World Trade from WTC security guards to car barriers which would not allow cars to enter certain areas. The New York Port Authority was to govern as the main security for the World Trade buildings. All packages were scanned at various checkpoints then sent up to the proper addressee. After his arrest, Ramzi Yousef is alleged to have said to investigators “this is only the begening”, hinting that there might be a sequel in the works in eight years time.
[edit] Allegations of Iraqi involvement
In October 2001 in a PBS interview, former CIA Director James Woolsey claimed that Ramzi Yousef worked for Iraqi intelligence.[25] He suggested the grand jury investigation turned up evidence pointing to Iraq that the Justice Department “brushed aside.” But Neil Herman, who headed the FBI investigation, noted that despite Yasin’s presence in Baghdad, there was no evidence of Iraqi support for the attack. “We looked at that rather extensively. There were no ties to the Iraqi government.” CNN terrorism analyst Peter L. Bergen writes, “In sum, by the mid-’90s, the Joint Terrorism Task Force in New York, the F.B.I., the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York, the C.I.A., the N.S.C., and the State Department had all found no evidence implicating the Iraqi government in the first Trade Center attack.”[26]
Claims of direct Iraqi involvement come from Laurie Mylroie of the American Enterprise Institute, with the claims rejected by other experts. Peter Bergen has called her a “crackpot” who claimed that “Saddam was not only behind the ’93 Trade Center attack, but also every anti-American terrorist incident of the past decade, from the bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania to the leveling of the federal building in Oklahoma City to September 11 itself.”[26] Daniel Benjamin, a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, writes: “The most knowledgeable analysts and investigators at the CIA and at the FBI believe that their work conclusively disproves Mylroie’s claims.”[27] Dr. Robert Leiken of the Nixon Center comments on the lack of evidence in her work: “Laurie has discovered Saddam’s hand in every major attack on US interests since the Persian Gulf War, including U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and even the federal building in Oklahoma City. These allegations have all been definitively refuted by the FBI, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and other investigatory bodies….”[28]
In March 2008, the Pentagon released its study of some 600,000 documents captured in Iraq after the 2003 invasion (see 2008 Pentagon Report). The study “found no ‘smoking gun’ (i.e., direct connection) between Saddam’s Iraq and al Qaeda.”[29] Among the documents released by the Pentagon was a captured audio file of Saddam Hussein speculating that the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center had been carried out by Israel or American intelligence, or perhaps a Saudi or Egyptian faction. Saddam said that he did not trust the bomber Yasin, who was in Iraqi custody, because his testimony was too “organized.” The Pentagon study found that Yasin “was a prisoner, and not a guest, in Iraq.”[30] Mylroie denied that this was proof of Saddam’s non-involvement, claiming that “one common purpose of such meetings was to develop cover stories for whatever Iraq sought to conceal.”[31]
[edit] Legal responsibility
The victims of the 1993 World Trade Center bombings sued the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for damages. A decision was handed down in 2006, assigning liability for the bombings to the Port Authority. The decision declared that the agency was 68 percent responsible for the bombing, and the terrorists bore only 32 percent of the responsibility. In January 2008, the Port Authority asked a five-judge panel of the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan to throw out the decision, describing the jury’s verdict as “bizarre”.[32] On April 29, 2008, a New York State Appeals Court unanimously upheld the jury’s verdict. Under New York law once a defendant is more than 50 percent at fault, he/she/it can be held fully financially liable.[33]
It has been argued that the problem with the apportionment of responsibility in the case is not the jury’s verdict, but rather New York’s tort-reform-produced state apportionment law. Traditionally courts do not compare intentional and negligent fault. When the Port Authority’s very duty was to take care to prevent terrorist attacks, it makes no sense to diminish the Port Authority’s liability because a terrorist attack took place. The Restatement Third of Torts: Apportionment of Liability recommends a rule to prevent juries from having to make nonsensical comparisons like the terrorist-Port Authority comparison in this case. However, if a jurisdiction does compare these intentional and negligent torts courts’ second-best position is to do just what the NYS Appeals Court did—to uphold all jury apportionments, even those that assign greater, or perhaps far greater, responsibility to negligent than intentional parties.[34]

A veiled or not so veiled issue stemming from Religious prophecy concerns.
Revelation 11 14The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. 15And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 18And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
19And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Malachi 4 1For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 3And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
4Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. 5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Monica Samille Lewinsky (born July 23, 1973) is an American
woman with whom then-United States President
Bill Clinton admitted to having had an “improper relationship”[1] while Lewinsky worked at the White House in 1995 and 1996. The affair and its repercussions, especially the impeachment of Bill Clinton, became known as the Lewinsky scandal.
[edit] Early life
Monica Lewinsky was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Southern California on the west side of Los Angeles and in Beverly Hills. She is of Russian Jewish descent. Her father is Dr. Bernhard Lewinsky, an oncologist; her mother, Marcia Lewis, is an author. Her parents are divorced.[2] Her stepfather, R. Peter Straus, is a media executive.[3] For her primary education she attended the John Thomas Dye School in Bel-Air.[4] She later attended Beverly Hills High School, but transferred to and graduated from Pacific Hills School, formerly known as Bel Air Prep, in 1991.[2]
She attended two-year community college, Santa Monica College, and completed her undergraduate studies at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, graduating with a psychology degree in 1995. Lewinsky moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked at the White House as an unpaid summer intern starting in July 1995, moving to a paid position there in December 1995.[2]
[edit] Scandal
Main article: Lewinsky scandal
Between November 1995 and March 1997, Lewinsky had an intimate relationship with President Bill Clinton. She later testified that the relationship involved fellatio in the Oval Office and other sexual contact but that sexual intercourse did not occur.
Clinton had previously been confronted with allegations of sexual misconduct, most notably in regard to an alleged long-term relationship with singer Gennifer Flowers and an encounter with Arkansas state employee Paula Jones (nĂ©e Corbin). These events were alleged to have occurred during Clinton’s time as Governor of Arkansas. Lewinsky’s name surfaced during legal proceedings connected to the latter matter, when Jones’s lawyers sought corroborating evidence of Clinton’s conduct to substantiate Jones’s allegations.
In April 1996, Lewinsky’s superiors relocated her job to The Pentagon because they felt she was spending too much time around Clinton.[2] Lewinsky confided in a co-worker named Linda Tripp about her relationship with the President. Beginning in September 1997, Tripp began secretly recording their telephone conversations regarding the affair with Clinton. In January 1998, after Lewinsky had submitted an affidavit in the Paula Jones case denying any physical relationship with Clinton, and attempted to persuade Tripp to lie under oath in the Jones case, Tripp gave the tapes to Independent Counsel
Kenneth Starr, and these tapes added to his ongoing investigation into the Whitewater controversy. Starr broadened his investigation to include investigating Lewinsky, Clinton, and others for possible perjury and subornation of perjury in the Jones case. Noteworthy for its revelation of Tripp’s motivations was her reporting of their conversations to literary agent Lucianne Goldberg. Tripp also convinced Lewinsky to save the gifts that Clinton had given her during their affair, and not to dry clean what would later be infamously known as “the blue dress.”
While under oath, Clinton denied having had “a sexual affair,” “sexual relations,” or “a sexual relationship” with Lewinsky,[5] and on January 26, 1998 claimed “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky” in a nationally televised White House news conference.
Clinton also said, “there is not a sexual relationship, an improper sexual relationship or any other kind of improper relationship”[6] which he defended as truthful on August 17, 1998, hearing because of the use of the present tense, famously arguing “it depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is”[7] (i.e., he was not, at the time he made that statement, still having a sexual relationship with Lewinsky). Under pressure from Starr, who, as Clinton learned, had obtained from Lewinsky a blue dress with Clinton’s semen stain, as well as testimony from Lewinsky that the President had inserted a cigar tube into her vagina, Clinton admitted that he lied to the American people and that he had inappropriate intimate contact with Lewinsky.[8] Clinton denied having committed perjury because, according to Clinton, the legal definition[9] of oral sex was not encompassed by “sex” per se. In addition, relying upon the definition of “sexual relations” as proposed by the prosecution and agreed by the defense and by Judge Susan Webber Wright, who was hearing the Paula Jones case, Clinton claimed that because certain acts were performed on him, not by him, he did not engage in sexual relations. Lewinsky’s testimony to the Starr Commission, however, contradicted Clinton’s claim of being totally passive in their encounters.[10]
Both Clinton and Lewinsky were called before a grand jury; Clinton testified via closed-circuit television, Lewinsky in person. Given an opportunity to offer final words on the matter, Lewinsky told the jury, “I hate Linda Tripp.”[11]
[edit] Subsequent life
The affair led to a period of pop culture celebrity for Lewinsky as a younger-generation focus of a political storm.[12][13] In early 1999, Lewinsky declined to sign an autograph in an airport, saying “I’m kind of known for something that’s not so great to be known for.”[14]
On March 3, 1999, Lewinsky was interviewed by Barbara Walters on ABC’s 20/20; the program was watched by 70 million Americans, which ABC said was a record for a news show.[15] She cooperated with Andrew Morton in his telling of her life and her side of the Clinton affair, Monica’s Story.[15][16] The book was published in March 1999 and also excerpted as the cover story in Time magazine.[15][16] Lewinsky made about $500,000 from her participation in the book and another $1 million from international rights to the Walters interview, but was still beset by high legal bills and living costs.[17] Lewinsky made a cameo appearance as herself in two sketches during the May 8, 1999, episode of NBC‘s Saturday Night Live, a program that had lampooned her relationship with Clinton over the prior sixteen months.
By her own account, Lewinsky had survived the intense media attention during the scandal period by knitting.[17] In September 1999, Lewinsky took this interest further by beginning to sell a line of handbags bearing her name,[18] under the company name The Real Monica, Inc.[17] They were sold online as well as at Henri Bendel in New York, Fred Segal in California, and The Cross in London.[19][18][17] Lewinsky both designed the bags – described by New York magazine as “hippie-ish, reversible totes” – and traveled frequently to supervise their manufacturing in Louisiana.[17]
At the start of 2000, Lewinsky began appearing in television commercials for Jenny Craig, Inc.[20] The $1 million endorsement deal, which required Lewinsky to lose 40 or more pounds in six months, gained considerable publicity at the time.[17] Lewinsky said that despite her desire to return to a more private life, she needed the money to pay off legal fees and that she believed in the product,[21] while a Jenny Craig spokesperson said of Lewinsky, “She represents a busy active woman of today with a hectic lifestyle. And she has had weight issues and weight struggles for a long time. That represents a lot of women in America.”[20] The choice of Lewinsky as a role model proved controversial for Jenny Craig, and some of its private franchises switched to an older advertising campaign.[17][21] Jenny Craig stopped running the Lewinsky ads in February, concluded her campaign entirely in April 2000, and only paid her $300,000 for her involvement.[21][17]
Also at the start of 2000, Lewinsky moved to New York City, living in the West Village and becoming an A-list guest in the Manhattan social scene.[17] In February 2000, Lewinsky appeared on MTV‘s The Tom Green Show in an episode in which the host took her to his parents’ home in Ottawa in search of fabric for her new business. Later in 2000, Lewinsky worked as a correspondent for British Channel 5 on the show Monica’s Postcards, reporting on U.S. culture and trends from a variety of locations.[22][17]
In March 2002, Lewinsky – no longer bound by the terms of her agreement with the United States Office of the Independent Counsel[17] – appeared in the HBO special “Monica in Black and White”, part of the America Undercover series.[23] In it, she answered a studio audience’s questions about her life and the Clinton affair.[23]
Lewinsky was the host of the reality television dating program Mr. Personality on Fox Television Network in 2003.[12] There she advised young women contestants who were picking men hidden by masks.[24] Some Americans tried to organize a boycott of advertisers on the show, in protest of Lewinsky capitalizing on her notoriety.[25] Nevertheless, the show debuted to very high ratings,[24] and The New York Times said that “after years of trying to cash in on her fame by designing handbags and other self-marketing schemes, Ms. Lewinsky has finally found a fitting niche on television.”[26] However, the ratings slid each successive week,[27] and after the show completed its limited run it did not reappear.[28] The same year, she appeared as a guest on the programs V Graham Norton in the UK, High Chaparall in Sweden, and The View and Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the U.S.[28]
After Clinton’s autobiography My Life appeared in 2004, Lewinsky said in an interview with the British tabloid Daily Mail:[29]
He could have made it right with the book, but he hasn’t. He is a revisionist of history. He has lied. […] I really didn’t expect him to go into detail about our relationship. […] But if he had and he’d done it honestly, I wouldn’t have minded. […] I did, though, at least expect him to correct the false statements he made when he was trying to protect the Presidency. Instead, he talked about it as though I had laid it all out there for the taking. I was the buffet and he just couldn’t resist the dessert. […] This was a mutual relationship, mutual on all levels, right from the way it started and all the way through. […] I don’t accept that he had to completely desecrate my character.

By 2005, Lewinsky found that she could not escape her past in the U.S., with both her professional and personal life difficult.[12] She stopped selling her handbag line[18] and moved to London.[12] In December 2006, Lewinsky graduated with a master’s degree in social psychology from the London School of Economics[30] where she had been studying since September 2005.[31] Her thesis was titled “In Search of the Impartial Juror: An Exploration of the Third-person effect and Pre-Trial Publicity”. She has since tried to avoid publicity.[12]

James Edward “Jim” McGreevey (born August 6, 1957) is an American
Democratic politician. He served as the 52nd
Governor of New Jersey from January 15, 2002, until November 15, 2004, when he resigned from office. In August 2004, McGreevey coupled the announcement of his decision to resign with a public declaration of his homosexuality and an admission to having had an extramarital affair with a man, Golan Cipel, an Israeli citizen and veteran of the Israeli Defense Forces, whom McGreevey appointed New Jersey homeland security adviser. Cipel, who had joined the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1994 as Chief Information Officer at the Consulate General of Israel in New York, subsequently left the United States and returned to Israel after their affair was revealed. McGreevey was the first and, to date, the only openly
gay state governor in United States history.[1]
Since leaving the governorship, McGreevey has attended the General Theological Seminary in New York City to obtain his Master of Divinity degree, a requirement to becoming an Episcopal priest.[2] He volunteers service through Exodus Transitional Community to former prisoners seeking rehabilitation at the Church of Living Hope in Harlem, New York.[3]

McGreevey has a daughter Morag from his first marriage (1991-1997) to Canadian Karen Joan Schutz.[10] He has another daughter, Jacqueline, from his second marriage to Portuguese-born Dina Matos McGreevey.
Dina Matos and McGreevey separated after he came out of the closet, and in late 2005 McGreevey and Australian-American executive Mark O’Donnell began a relationship.[11] The two live in Plainfield, New Jersey.[4][12][13] McGreevey teaches ethics, law and leadership at Kean University in Union, New Jersey.[14][15]
In her memoirs, Matos wrote that she would never have married McGreevey if she had known he was gay, nor would she have chosen to have a gay man to father her child.[16] On March 17, 2008, Theodore Pedersen, a former aide to McGreevey, claimed that from 1999 to 2001 he had a three-way affair with McGreevey and Matos, a statement later affirmed by email from McGreevey to the Associated Press.[16][17] In a statement to ABC News, Matos denied that a threesome ever took place.[18]
[Associated Press reported that McGreevey was seeking custody of Jacqueline and filing for child support. Matos demanded $600,000 plus alimony.[19] The divorce trial started on May 6, 2008.[20] On August 8, the divorce was granted. McGreevey received joint custody, and pays child support.[21] Matos was denied alimony.

He was elected to the New Jersey Senate in 1993, simultaneously serving as mayor during the four-year Senate term. He first ran for governor in 1997, but was defeated in a close race (47% to 46%) by the incumbent Republican
Christine Todd Whitman. Libertarian candidate Murray Sabrin received slightly over 5% of the vote.[24] McGreevey ran for the governorship again in 2001 and won with 56% of the vote,[25] making him the first majority-elected governor since James Florio.[26] His Republican opponent in that race was Bret Schundler.[27] Other candidates in the race included William E. Schluter (Independent), Jerry Coleman (Green), Mark Edgerton (Libertarian), Michael Koontz (Conservative), Costantino Rozzo (Socialist) and Kari Sachs (Socialist Workers).[28][29]

Among McGreevey’s accomplishments were implementing a stem cell research plan for New Jersey,[36] heavily lobbying for the state’s first domestic partnership law for same-sex couples[37] and signing such a law in early 2004.[38]
McGreevey’s term was controversial, with questions about the credentials of several of his appointees[39] to pay to play[40][41] and extortion scandals involving backers and key New Jersey Democratic fundraisers.[42][43][44]

McGreevey was criticized for appointing as homeland security adviser Golan Cipel, because he lacked experience or other qualifications for the position. In addition, Cipel could not gain a security approval from the Federal government, as he was Israeli and not a U.S. citizen. McGreevey had met him in Israel during a trip there in 2000.[45]

McGreevey in 2007.
According to McGreevey in The Confession, The Record was the first newspaper to break the news of a relationship between McGreevey and Cipel. McGreevey brought up Cipel’s name six weeks into his administration in a February 14, 2002, interview with The Record’s editorial board at its offices saying:
We will not skimp on security. We actually brought on a security adviser from the Israel Defense Forces, probably the best in the world.[46]
The interview prompted news investigation into Cipel’s background. On February 21, The Record published a profile of Cipel, calling him a “sailor” and a “poet.” The article stated,“Democrats close to the administration say McGreevey and Cipel have struck up a close friendship and frequently travel together”, prompting McGreevey’s own mother to confront him about his sexual orientation. Various media organizations sent reporters to Israel to ask questions about Cipel and his background.[citation needed]
In August 2002 at McGreevey’s request, Cipel stepped down from his position as homeland security adviser.[47][48]
[edit] Resignation
On August 12, 2004, faced with threats from Cipel’s lawyer Allen Lowy that Cipel would file a sexual harassment
lawsuit against him in Mercer County Court,[49] McGreevey announced at a press conference, “My truth is that I am a gay American.”[50] He also said that he had “engaged in an adult consensual affair with another man” (whom his aides immediately named as Cipel),[51] and that he would resign effective November 15, 2004. New Jersey political circles had speculated about McGreevey’s sexual orientation and questions about his relationship with Cipel had been alluded to in the media. McGreevey’s announcement made him the first openly gay state governor in United States history. The Star-Ledger won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting for its “coverage of the resignation of New Jersey’s governor after he announced he was gay and confessed to adultery with a male lover.”[52]
McGreevey’s decision to delay the effective date of his resignation until after September 3, 2004, avoided a special election in November to replace the governor.[53] Doing so allowed the Democratic Party to retain control of the governor’s office for at least another year. It avoided the prospect of a Republican incumbent governor’s running in tandem with George W. Bush, which could have helped Bush capture New Jersey’s electoral votes.[1][54] (Bush did not win New Jersey’s electoral votes in the 2004 presidential election, but captured 46% of the statewide vote, compared to 40% in the 2000 race, and did win re-election.)
Almost immediately after McGreevey’s announcement, New Jersey Republicans and Democrats alike called upon the governor not to wait until November to resign and instead to do so immediately.[55][56] An editorial in the New York Times read, “Mr. McGreevey’s strategy to delay resignation does not serve New Jersey residents well. The state will be led by an embattled governor mired in personal and legal problems for three months.”[57]
On September 15, U.S. District Judge Garrett E. Brown, Jr. dismissed Afran v. McGreevey,[58] filed by Green Party lawyers Bruce Afran and Carl Mayers, dismissing their claim that the postponement of McGreevey’s resignation had left a vacancy, thereby violating New Jersey residents’ voting rights. Brown stated that McGreevey “clearly intends to hold office until November 15, 2004. The requirement of holding a special election does not arise. The rights of registered voters are not being violated.”[59][60] Afran re-filed the same suit in Mercer County Superior Court and Judge Linda R. Feinberg heard arguments on October 4, 2004.
Fellow Democrat and New Jersey Senate President Richard Codey took office upon McGreevey’s resignation[61] and served the remainder of the term until January 17, 2006.[62] At the time of McGreevey’s resignation, the New Jersey State Constitution stipulated that the Senate president retains that position while serving as acting governor.[63]

In The Confession, McGreevey described the duality of his life before he came out as gay: “As glorious and meaningful as it would have been to have a loving and sound sexual experience with another man, I knew I’d have to undo my happiness step by step as I began chasing my dream of a public career and the kind of ‘acceptable’ life that went with it. So, instead, I settled for the detached anonymity of bookstores and rest stops â€“ a compromise, but one that was wholly unfulfilling and morally unsatisfactory.”[67]

He was accepted to General Theological Seminary, where he is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree, a requirement to becoming an Episcopal priest.[2][69]

The secret

The secret

Contradictory Status

The Government of the United States conducted a structured program of unlawful exclusion and fraud, mandated exclusion, fabricated justification throughout the plaintiff’s life. While simultaneously coordinating and conducting a program to fabricate and orchestrate the appearance of inclusion and participation in “state” affairs knowing that the plaintiff was completely unaware of them. The secret was that the plaintiff was not informed, aware, or comprehending, and uninvolved in the affairs orchestrated over him. The Executive Office of the Presidency authorized the orchestration and was approved.
Falsifying Top Secret clearance involvement of the plaintiff, their crime victim, and alleging or implying plaintiff had knowledge or a role in the decisions that they made, only extending the crimes under secrecy protection.

Black Budget Fraud

The US Government fraudulently denied the plaintiff knowledge of his Father, and knowledge of his heritage
The US Government fraudulently involved the plaintiff in Desert Storm, using his religious Identity, influence and his miracle book work.
The US Government fraudulently deprived the plaintiff of his special right with regard to the ADA
The US Government fraudulently involved the plaintiff in Guantanamo Bay and its opening.
The US Government coordinated a National Emergency over the plaintiff.
The US Government coordinated the plaintiff’s entire grade school career fraudulently.
The US Government coordinated the plaintiff’s entire college career fraudulently.
The US Government coordinated the plaintiff’s entire US Postal career fraudulently.
The US Government coordinated the plaintiff’s entire life and circumstances fraudulently.

Presidential and governmental policies indicate that the situation isn’t cut and dried. Individuals choose between doing the crime and not. What was prepared for me if I had been informed is not what I got being uniformed and went to the perpetrators of crime. The secret military prosecutions indicate the trail of wrongdoing and its purpose could not have been to replace the ones who got caught with other criminals. The mandated exclusion and orchestrated inclusion in the national security system precludes an objective decision. The orchestration into secret, reveals the false expectations as lies and conspiracy. The appointment of an independent counsel meant judicial decisions had to be reached, not that whatever had been done was right. People made the decision whether to follow illegal orders, crimes and policies.

The perceived expectations of some for me to understand was because of the government’s deceit. It also suggest that my exclusion wasn’t cut and dried, but rather the result of conspiracy.
The peril and confusion of secret accusations made on my behalf over problems I never knew of, seems to be seriously intentionally flawed. The victim left out in the open, unaware, unadvised, and a loose end for criminal
“Prosecuting the war” at the expense of the witnesses health and life, by the perpetrators. Whether waiting to stabilize the middle east again, looking for another great thing to prosecute and for the purpose of manufacturing delay. . The fear of Overseas threats….of prosecution? Defense and prosecution by the Government.

George Bush Jr. statement “prosecuting the war” was indicative of the problem. Prosecuting the war at the expense of the man they lied on and victimized to do, and they man they criminally victimized to cover it up. It’s obvious that doing a Desert Storm, etc., prosecution wasn’t first on everyone’s agenda.

The respondents also acted with depravity in turning attempted murder with Navy suicidal depressants into the now famous doctrine of suicide bombing and going straight to heaven. (long story)

Torture, Complicity and Unequal Treatment

Torture, Complicity and Unequal Treatment

TORTURE— repeat and deliberate infliction of suffering, including psychological abuse of inflicting suffering, incapacitation, and physical harm and calling me crazy(figuratively).
Denial of medicine including through adulteration, and denial of medical through feigned superficial care, simply ignoring diagnosis
Widespread target specific tampering, with respect to the petitioner. State of Maryland and Florida (96′ and previously) to present.
UNEQUAL TREATMENT–deprivation of the benefit of legislative actions specifically intended to benefit myself and others. ADA, Independent counsel Statute and some suspect beneficial legislation legislated by the state of Florida. Pharmaceutical substituting or tampering, obstruction of justice by denying victim medical treatment.
Unequal treatment regarding apparent witnesses and protected participants
  1. The Government of the United States, the defendants used chemical restraints, incapacitating agents, debilitating agents, and toxic exposures. Several Presidential administrations committed conspiracy against rights. Executive administrations and executive departments utilized and coordinated federal, state, and local officials and private sector entities in unison. Private sector entities including retailers, vendors, private and public hospitals, caregivers and other service providers. Thus creating a hostile community environment for the plaintiff. Adulterated or drugged cigarettes, soft drinks, water, prescription and over the counter medicine, herbs, vitamins, food and supplements and the debilitation and danger hazards that comes with them are what the plaintiff is subject to. The plaintiff has been subjected to such for ten to fifteen years with something such cigarettes even longer. The most intense and thorough across the board problems span approximately three to five years

  2. War time manufacturing
control concepts like during WWII. Hitler and the Nazi’s did the same, with slave labor . In the modern scenario with a much more sophisticate twist, the Government’s production of altered deleterious products with manufacturers is no less evil. Compared to the Japanese interments camps, the modern kinder gentler approach of chemical repression is used. The reference to the US as the leader in high tech repression appears true.

  3. The use of major tranquilizers known to cause brain damage, and Parkinson’s disease like symptoms by the community including pharmacist. These drugs were not allowed by law to be used without consent in the hospital and subject to habeas corpus procedures governing them as being a deprivation of liberty through chemical restraint.

  4. The Government of the United States committed in the childhood of the individual (self) and CONTINUE TO COMMIT THOSE ACTS that cause and caused permanent injury to the plaintiff, including causing organic brain damage (ADD, attention deficit syndrome), motor retardation, and muscle skeletal malformations, and endocrine hormonal dysfunction. Dental malformation.
