Captain, Prince, and Lord of hosts, the lamb

Captain, Prince, and Lord of hosts, the lamb

Lord of Hosts, The Lamb

Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Isaiah 2 10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty. 11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Isaiah 2:19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; 21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?

Ezekiel 7:16 But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity. 17 All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water. 18 They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads. 19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

Isaiah 24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

    Prince of the Hosts

Daniel 8 10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. 11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. 12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.

Daniel 8 24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Daniel 9: 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

    prince of the covenant

Daniel 11:21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. 22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

Zechariah 9 9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. 10 And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth. 11 As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. 12 Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope:even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;

Isaiah 49 7 Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee. 8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.

Isaiah 61:7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. 8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. 9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

    Captain of the Host

Joshua 5 13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? 14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? 15 And the captain of the LORD’S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

    Holy ground

Exodus 3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. 6Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God .. 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

Exodus 24:9 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: 10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. 11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

The Angel of the lord, The voice of one crying in the wilderness

Exodus 23  20  Behold,  I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in  the way, and to bring thee into  the place  which I have prepared. 21 Beware of him, and  obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name  is  in him.
22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. 23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off

Isaiah 40  1Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.  2Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.

3The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye  the way  of the LORD, make  straight  in the desert a highway for our God.  4Every valley shall be  exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:  5And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see  it  together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken  it.
6The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh  is  grass, and all the goodliness thereof  is  as the flower of the field:  7The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people  is  grass.  8The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:  but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

9O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift  it  up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!  10Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong  hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward  is  with him, and his work before him.  11He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry  them  in his bosom,  and  shall gently lead those that are with young.

    John the baptist

John the Baptist preparing a spiritual path in the wilderness. The voice calling out the way in the wilderness to the place prepared.

Luke 3  2Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto  John  the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.  3And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;  4As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The  voice  of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye  the way  of the Lord, make his paths straight.  5Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and  hill  shall be  brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways  shall be  made smooth;  6And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.7Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

John 1:19  And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? 20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.  21  And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.  22  Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?  23He said, I  am  the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

Exodus 13:21  And the  LORD  went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in  a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: 22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night,  from  before the people.

Numbers 14:13  And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear  it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)  14  And they will tell  it  to the inhabitants of this land:  for  they have heard that thou LORD  art  among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and  that  thy cloud standeth over them, and  that  thou goest before them,  by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

Turing thing upside down, the work of the potter

Isaiah 29  10For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.  11And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which  men  deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it  is  sealed:  12And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.  13Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near  me  with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:  14Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people,  even  a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise  men  shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent  men  shall be hid.  15Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?  16Surely  your  turning of things upside down  shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

17  Is  it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest? 18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of  the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. 19 The meek also shall increase  their  joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. 20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: 21That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.

Isaiah 42:16  And I will bring the blind by a way  that  they knew not; I will lead them in paths  that  they have not known:  I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

Isaiah 45:2    I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

    Overturn, Overturn, Overturn

Ezekiel 21:26  Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this  shall  not  be  the same:  exalt  him that  is  low, and  abase  him that is  high.  27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn,  it: and it shall be no  more,  until he come whose right it is; and I will give it  him.

The blood of the testaments

The blood of the testaments

Hebrews 9  15And for this cause he is the mediator of  the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions  that were  underthe first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.  16For where a testament  is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.  17For a testament  is  of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.  18Whereupon neither the first  testament  was dedicated without blood.19For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,  20Saying, This  is  the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.21Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.22And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

The blood of the New Testament

Matthew 26  26And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed  it, and brake  it, and gave  it  to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.27And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave  it  to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;  28For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.  29But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.  30And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

Luke 22  18For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.  19And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brakeit, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.  20Likewise also the cup after supper, saying,  This cup is  the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

Abiding in Christ, Drinking the blood, and Living the life

John 6  53Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,  Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.54Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.  55For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.  56He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.  57As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.  58This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.  59These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

John 15  3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.  4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye  abide  in me.  5I am the vine, ye  are  the branches: He that  abideth  in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast  theminto the fire, and they are burned.  7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

9As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

    The symbolism of communion

1 Corinthians 11  23For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the  same  night in which he was betrayed took bread:  24And when he had given thanks, he brake  it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.  25After the same manner also  he took  the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink  it, in remembrance of me.  26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord’s death till he come.  27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink  this  cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.  28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat ofthat  bread, and drink of  that  cup.  29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.30For this cause many  are  weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.  31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.  32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

    The blood of the Lamb

Revelation 7  13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?  14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of  great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in  the  blood of the Lamb.15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.  16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.  17For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Revelation 12  10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.  11And they overcame him by  the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

12Therefore rejoice,  ye  heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

The blood of the Old Testament and the symbolism of the mark of the beast

Revelation 14  9And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image,  and receive  his  mark in his forehead, or in his hand,10The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:  11And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.12Here is the patience of the saints: here  are  they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

13And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed  are  the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

The blood on the door posts

Exodus 12  5Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take  it  out from the sheep, or from the goats:  6And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.  7And they shall take of the blood, and strike  it  on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.  8And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread;  and  with bitter  herbs  they shall eat it.  9Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast  with  fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.  10And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.  11And thus shall ye eat it;  with  your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it  is  the LORD’S passover.  12For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I  am  the LORD.  13And the blood shall be to you for a token   upon the houses where ye  are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy  you, when I smite the land of Egypt.14And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.  15Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

Exodus 12    21Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you  a lamb  according to your families, and kill  the passover.  22And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip  it  in the blood that  is  in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood thatis  in the basin; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.  23For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth  the   blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite  you.  24And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.  25And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.  26And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?  27That ye shall say, It  is  the sacrifice of the LORD’S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.  28And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

29And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that  was  in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.  30And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for  there was  not a house where  there was  not one dead.  31And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up,  and  get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.

A sign on the hand and forehead, doorposts and gates

The word of God as the blood of the lamb on the doorpost

Exodus 13  8And thou shalt show thy son in that day, saying,  This is done  because of that  which  the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.  9And it shall be for  a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for  a memorial   between thine eyes, that the LORD’S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.  10Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.

Exodus 13  14And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What  is  this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:  15And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.  16And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.

Deuteronomy 6  4Hear, O Israel:  The LORD our God  is  one LORD:  5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.  6And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.  8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.  9And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.10And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst   not,

Deuteronomy 11    18Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.19And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.  20And thou shalt write them upon  the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:21That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

22For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

Daniel 12:5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. 6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. 8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Revelation 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Revelation 10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: 2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, 3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. 4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. 5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, 6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: 7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
EZEKIEL, JOHN AND THE BOOK
Comparing, Ezekiel being sent to the House of Israel, to John’s being sent to the gentiles.
Ezekiel 2:9 And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein; 10 And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
Ezekiel 3:1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel. 2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll. 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness. 4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them. 5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;
John to the Gentiles
Revelation 10:8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. 9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. 10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. 11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
The judgment on Jerusalem
Sealing the servants of god
Ezekiel 9:1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand. 2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar. 3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn by his side; 4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: 6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. 7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city. 8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem? 9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not. 10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head. 11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
1 Peter 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Revelation7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
The Censer,
and The last offering
Ezekiel 10:1 Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne. 2 And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight. 3 Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court. 4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’S glory. 5 And the sound of the cherubims’ wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh. 6 And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels. 7 And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out.
Revelation 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. 6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound
